With a war raging between different mobile network companies in order to get the most number of 3G subscribers, it is the customers who are benefitting the most, due to competitive pricing of 3G plans. Although 3G is still not that popular among Indian consumers, companies are trying their best to woo customers by offering a variety of lucrative tariff plans. Idea, too has launched its 3G services in most parts of India and according to customer reviews, speed is quite good in some circles where the network is good whereas in others it is almost useless. Anyhow here are the 3G plans currently being offered by IDEA:
Sachet Based Plans:
Just as an introduction plan, to let people get a feel of using 3G. (Diff. plans for different circles, below example is for Delhi)
In Rs. 8 Sachet, you get 20MB free data and 1 day validity
In Rs. 49 sachet, you get 100MB free data and 3 days validity
Prepaid 3G Plans:
Starting from Rs. 102 with 200MB free data and 5p per 10KB thereon. Though plans vary from circle to circle, the prices are quite close. The best one according to me is the Rs. 450 one, in which you get 1200MB or 1.2 GB.
Postpaid 3G Plans:
The pricing is fixed and starts from Rs. 100 per 100 MB. The best recommended plan is the Rs. 599 one, which offers 2048 MB or 2 GB of free data usage. Quite decent for extremely fast speed.
There are also other plans available – Time Based, Data Rate Cutter etc. You can get to know more about them from Idea’s official website.
