MakeMyTrip Launches Apps for Smartphones

Make My Trip LogoOne of the best travel portals in India, MakeMyTrip has stepped on the heat and is ready to cash in on the smartphone market by launching mobile apps for Android and iPhone devices, as well as a comprehensive HTML-5 mobile suite for smartphones.

MakeMyTrip also claims that it is the first Indian OTA to introduce an iPhone app.  This move is definitely aimed at taking advantage of the lucrative smartphone based business opportunity in India, as most of the Indian users can now afford one or the other smartphones.

“This overwhelming response encouraged us to extend our product offering to other popular mobile platforms. With this launch, all smartphone users will now be able to have a seamless experience with MakeMyTrip through their devices,” said Amit Somani, chief products officer, MakeMyTrip.com.”

These travel apps will no doubt be useful for smartphone users as they allow them to search and book flights on the go. The other advantage is that users details are stored in the device so you won’t have to enter your details the next time you search anything via MakeMyTrip app.

Users can also view their booking details, request e-tickets and make cancellations whenever they want.  They can also track refunds if thye have made any cancellations. The best part about the app is that it provides alerts on updated flight schedules, allowing the users to heck the status of a flight with real time flight schedules. This can be real handy for those savvy customers who do not have the time to log in to their PC everytime to check all these things.

The transactions via the MakeMyTrip app are secure & processed by Credit & Debit cards of all major banks. Netbanking option is also available for those users who have an online banking account.
